Facebook social accounts were temporarily hacked by a group of hackers on Friday afternoon.
Our hacking group posted on Twitter and Instagram accounts of Facebook and Messenger, and wrote "Even Facebook is hackable"
Accounts are now restored.
OurMine claims that its attacks are an attempt to show cyber vulnerabilities. In January, he transferred over a dozen accounts to the NFL teams.
The group posted a statement to their Facebook account on Twitter. Hey, we are OurMine. Okay, even Facebook is hackable, but at least their security is better than Twitter.
Facebook and Massager Instagram accounts have also been hijacked to post a photo with our OurMine logo.
Facebook's private website has not been hacked.
Twitter confirmed that the hacking process was done by a third party and that the accounts were blocked as soon as it notified of this issue.
"As soon as we became aware of this issue, we closed the accounts to risk and worked closely with our Facebook partners to restore them," Twitter said in a statement.
The attack on Facebook appears to have followed a similar breakthrough for teams in the National Football League. Accounts appear to have been accessed through the external Khoros platform.
Khoros is a marketing platform that companies can use to manage their social media connections. These systems usually manage or access their customers' passwords and authentication data.
Khors did not respond to a BBC request for comment.
OurMine is a group of hackers from Dubai who have attacked the accounts of prominent companies and individuals in the past. In the past, time broke into the social media account of Twitter founder Jack Dorsey, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and corporate accounts at Netflix and ESPN.
The group claims that its attacks are designed to demonstrate insecurity. But it also recommends that victims use their services to improve safeguards.
